Skwirl's Future and the OGL

Hey all,

Like many of you, I have been keeping abreast of the OGL situation. I've just stepped into this TTRPG landscape that started like a summer day and woke up to a storm brewing on the horizon.

While I might be a level 1 Druid, I'm surrounded by a community that has been readying for this day over 20 years in the making and many of you are legendary statuses. This is our game and we are going to fight for it. 

While I'm waiting to see what Wizards of the Coast has in store for us, Skwirl and the gang are not standing still. I'm planning on bringing you more useful ready reference cards. I'm also going to look into other formats. Do druids in Pathfinder need the same ready references handy? If so, I'll figure out how to make that an option. Is there another system that needs these cards?

I took a break trying to take in all that is happening. And soon I'll get back to work on finishing my plans for the next campaign. It might take a little longer to get going as I probably have a few more versions of the cards to make. I'm excited about the idea of making things for a lot more gamers.

Again, here's the list of options I'm aiming for in the next campaign. There's a little bit more artwork to do as well as some designing.

Expansion 1 beast list and Find Familiar Preview

Hey all,

Hope your holidays are going well. I've still got a few things to iron out for the first expansion. The bulk of the work will be putting the actual campaign together. 

I wanted to share the list of beasts with everyone.  This caps off the rest of the beasts in the SRD with a few extras like the Snow Cat.

I'm working on a new set that I've mentioned. And for now, we're calling it Akasha's Arcane Menagerie. Here's a peek at the Bat familiar. Based on the feedback from the survey I put out (thank you all so much for participating) I will be working on the stat design still a bit. There are some creatures that have a ton of stats that might be a bit too hard on the eyes at card size.  The Quasit is a great example of a creature with a lot of stats. 

One question I have for you all is about the art side of the card. On the wild shape cards, I added a handy CR for quick reference. What would you want for quick reference on these? maybe the AC would be the most helpful?

A note about the survey answers you've all provided.  

There are quite a few things you'd love to have that I probably won't be able to make just the way you'd like them. Many items or creatures are not in the SRD and thus are in the off-limits area of making cards of them. I can accommodate many though. And I'm excited to bring those to you.  Here's a list of items I'll be considering:

Skwirl's Next Adventure and an Update

Hello fellow druids friends and friends of druids,

First, I know I said the last post was the last shipping update. But I wanted to drop in to let folks know that are international backers an email with your tracking info should be waiting for you in your inbox.

My very last shipments are just waiting on signatures to arrive from artists. 

Expansions

I'm working on the final illustrations for Expansion 1. And getting the lineup for Expansion 2. I can't express how much time I've thought about what to include for Expansion 2. Expansion 1 was easy because I'm filling in the rest of the SRD with a few extras. 

Expansion 2 has consumed my thoughts on this topic more than I thought it would. My favorite feature so far was an even offering of CR beasts across the board of 5 in each category. Five CR 0, five CR 1/8, five CR 1/4, etc, etc. And within each CR at least one of each level improvement requirement. Or simply at least one land, water, or air. The other feature is a bit more homebrewing thus some necessary playtesting.

Skwirl's companions also need their own cards and we'll see Akasha's Vade Mecum of Find Familiar. And Conner's Find Steed. 

I'm aiming for Expansion 1 as early in 2023 as makes sense to run a campaign.  And it will include some of these cards from Skwirl's companions. And Expansion 2 in the late summer/fall of 2023.  I'll be teaming up with Mythic Gaming this time to bring some amazing extras to each campaign.

Further down the line is a bestiary and adventures.

On to adventure!
